Snowing

I can almost hear the Christmas music now...oh wait, they are probably already playing it in the stores! I guess it is a good thing Nate spent the day putting all our patio/bbq stuff in the storage shed yesterday because it is snowing! I am still hoping we get at least a couple more days in the next month of really nice fall weather without any wind. I am not ready for this cold weather yet. I think it is so funny that the locals here keep telling us how horrible the winters are and we keep telling them that we are from Utah and are pretty familiar with snow, and they shake their heads and laugh. We will see shortly how they compare, whether we are ready or not.

I have been trying to get a picture (not really trying very hard) of the blue jays that have been frequenting our yard this past month. Five of them were out this afternoon swooping from tree to tree, this one looked as if it was checking out the bird feeder but didn't take the bait, at least he gave me a chance to video him for a second. I love birding!

Oh I am glad it's you getting snow and not me. We still have another seven days of good autumn weather predicted. It did snow once already though. Don't worry about bad winters, they are a great way to spend time with people you love. Just think hot chocolate, popcorn, blankets and DVD's. It's interesting you can feel the absence of stress in your last blog since you got those tests out of the way. You are doing great!

You have got to love birding! I enjoy our scrub jays but I am jealous that you get true blue jays AND cardinals. We don't get any good birds here! Okay, I take that back. If you go out to the Farmington Bay bird refuge you can see flocks of pelicans and an occasional great blue heron. I'm still jealous about the blue jays and cardinals, though.

I am glad the snow is with you right now. We had our share for now. We are enjoy some 70's! I can't wait to hear how you survive the winter there! Sounds like you might not make it! :)

I would gladly swap you out about 15 degrees. That would keep you out of the snow for a while, and at the same time giving me relief from the stupid 95 degree weather that we are still "enjoying".

There is something not quite right about it being Halloween and still in the 90's.

I think you did a pretty good job of filming the blue jay. He is really cute. I wonder why you do get the neat birds back there? I have seen cardinals here twice, so they here but they are very rare.

I am still sad that our first snow only lasted one day! It all melted pretty fast. I cannot wait till winter! I think I am probably one of few that love it! PS I just tagged you to list 7 random things about yourself! If you have questions, read my blog :)

I love the movies! I must learn how to do that. Wow, what a storm. I knew the weather was bad there because the World Series was postponed until tomorrow. I wonder just how bad they get there! Time will tell. Love ya.

Well none of the snow stuck, it only snowed for about an hour and then it was done. So nothing like Utah got a week or two ago.

I can't believe you are still in the 90's mom, that is just unbearable. Of course in a couple of months you will be nice and comfortable and the rest of us will have no choice but to cuddle up on the couch with hot cocoa and popcorn and gain 10 lbs to keep warm! (I am not a bear and I am not hibernating so why do I have this incredible desire to store up some reserves for the winter!!!)

Hey, maybe the reason it still seems so unbearably hot is because I have already packed on the ten pounds!

Perhaps I will go to the gym for lunch!

I am not ready for snow yet but a good storm is always fun.

That is such a pretty bird! And yes I think you are in for a real treat in the snow department...lol. Imagine Utah the worst year it ever snowed and then add ice storms and make it even colder if that is possible.

It's 74 degrees here today and beautiful, I'm dreading even thinking about snow!! You'll have to let us know how your winter goes. I love video, thanks for sharing...
