I know most of our blog readers will probably not appreciate this as much as I do, but I think there might be a few golfers among us. Since Ang and I use this blog as our digital scrapbook, I figured that I would document the fabulous golfing that Pennsylvania has to offer. I have golfed about 5 different courses since I have been here. The amount of trees on the courses is unreal and most of the courses are very mature. As far as condition and playability, I would say they are on par with most of the courses I've played in Utah, until today.
I had been hearing that Whispering Woods was the best course in the area and today I found out why. It is probably the best course I have EVER played. One of the best parts about the courses here are the price. Whispering Woods was $25 for 18 holes w/cart and it is the most expensive course I have played. The course we play every Sunday is $17 for 18 holes w/cart and last week I played at a course that charged $7 to walk 18 holes. I love golf, so I am in heaven with the quality of the courses and the price!!!

Wow, that is beautiful, and I have to say that the prices are unbelieveable! Another plus to being in the Erie area.
Thanks for letting us take a peak. If it is interesting to you, it is interesting to us! We love hearing about golf.
Sheryl...your daughter does not know what a "south paw" is!! We are watching the debate and I noticed that both candidates are south paws and she does not know what I am talking about!!!
Nate- nobody knows what a south paw is, you are a freak! Is it like an angry south pole elf, I don't know.
I know what a south paw is! But, then I am OLD...The course looks beautiful and I can see Dan coming to visit so he can play those courses. How very fun for you. Thanks for showing us how beautiful it is there.
What a beautiful golf course! I thought Utah had the best priced golf but you have a beautiful course at a heck of a good price.
While we are talking golf, Kellie and I just finished our season golfing with the Lakeside Ladies. It is the first (and with a baby on the way) her last time golfing on a league and having to keep a true score. She tied another gal for most improved by improving 59 strokes! To bad we're still not real great golfers but it's sure fun! Enjoy...
That looks like a blast! Who have you been going golfing with? I never stop to ask if you and Ang have made friends I only asked about the kids!
What the hell is a south paw?
I'm with your sister, what is the 'south paw???'
Looks like fun Nate, I love the pictures!! What a beautiful place to live...
I am so freaked out that you people don't know what a "south paw" is...but maybe that is just a term they use in sports!!
Julie...I seem to get worse every year, if I could improve by one stroke I would be happy...let alone 59. That is amazing and hopefully one day I can be in a golf league with my daughters.
Okay, well, I thought "south paw" was a well known term, but maybe that is just because I'm among the older crowd.
I'm glad you have had a chance to have some fun golfing after all that hard work you have done around the house the past few months. That course looks beautiful. One of the things that struck me the most the first time I ever went back east was how dense the trees are. That is the first time I could ever grasp my mind around the fact that people say we live in the desert. I thought we had a lot of trees, but I realized I was mistaken when I saw the comparison.
Wow, I also thought 'south paw' was a term everyone knew. For those of you who are still confused....those people are left handed.
Maybe this is something that I should have passed down, you know, like family traditions. Oh wait...we really don't have any of those either.
I know what a south paw is too!
I don't really appreciate the game of golf, but I can appreciate a beautiful course. It looks like some of your trees are starting to chang color.
The trees are finally starting to change color. The pictures make it look a lot more like fall than it actually is. As I look out my window I see very little color other than green on the trees.
I agree with you Cynthia, the amount of trees out here is unreal. The other big contrast here is how old everyting is. There are not very many new homes or buildings and most of the buildings have been here for 50+ years old. I think there is something to be said for old and new, but it is certainly a big change from Utah!!!
