Reflections?

Well the Reflections theme this year was "WOW" and now I know why. This is what Nate and I said when Liv came home with an invitation to the awards ceremony for her entry.

She had talked about doing an entry but told us she wasn't interested in trying if she wouldn't get 1st place. We told her that there were no guarantee's and that she should just do her best and have fun. She never mentioned it again so as far as we knew she wasn't going to do one.

I guess she changed her mind when her teacher gave the class time in school to draw a picture to enter in the contest the last day entries were due. Getting 6th place out of 40 entries at the last minute is pretty dang good! I am so glad she decided to try, good job Liv, we are so proud of you!

Marc and Shelly were thinking they needed to get an earlier start on the kids reflections projects, and at this point Nate and I are just hoping next year to know whether or not our kid is actually going to do one!!

24 Hour Snow total: 14.9 inches, and yes the roads are a nightmare.

I'm impressed, Liv! That's awesome! I never did win any Reflections contests....but it seems there are a lot of people on the Barnes' side that are! I'm glad you took a picture of the picture she drew. Wow is right!

Liv; You are the greatest! Wish you were here so we could give you a hug. We miss you guys sooooo much. Looks like your muscles should improve with all the snow shoveling. We are still sipping pina coladas on the deck basking in warm weather. We bought a new snow blower so as luck has it we won't get much snow this year. Love ya GP&GM Barnes.

Did somebody say pina coladas? That sounds dreamy, I am really hoping this stuff melts and we get a bit of a warm up before the real winter settles in.

Nice work Liv! You always have been a great artist. Keep up the good work!

Maybe you guys are having second thoughts about not taking Dads snow blower...I do not envy you right now. In fact I can't wait for the Vegas weather!

Congrats Liv! That is totally awesome.

We go through the Reflections dilema every year..to do one or not to do one. I think my girls have always wanted to do it, but just don't know what to do so they don't. We have had a few entries over the years. I think the problem is it just comes up too fast in the school year, and we need time to simmer on it.

Way to go, Liv! I was one of those kids who never entered the Reflections contest because I was afraid I would never win anything, and as a result I never won anything! I'm proud of you for taking the risk.

On the subject of the snow, I was watching the national weather forcast this morning and they said something about 2 feet of snow in Buffalo. I didn't catch whether that was their current snow total or whether it was the forcast, but I wondered how much of it would make it's way over to you. I will keep my fingers crossed for some mild weather for you.

Liv, you are AWESOME!! Great job on your project.

Did I mention that I don't like reflections at all, we only did it because it was a required part of the gifted and talented program the kids are in. It's just too much 'extra' work for me. So, I'm impressed that Liv did it all on her own!

I can't believe all pf your snow, that is too crazy. I'm glad that we have mantained rather good weather so far.

BIV! You are the most talented artist in our family! You probably really will grow up and be an artist.

I am very proud of you for deciding to enter the contest. You are awesome! I think it is so cool that you got a ribbon. You should have your picture framed and hang it on your wall with the ribbon.

Love and miss you tons.
