Packages!

I was so excited to see a bird snow gauge that when I was tearing open the package I got a little crazy and busted off the number 2 foot marker! I was beside myself, but Nate was able to fix it! I really wanted to put it over by the bird feeder but that area is somewhat protected from the snow, so I put it over by the arborvitae's. The best place to put it would have been in the front yard to get the most accurate snow reading but I really imagine that a bird may want to perch on it and so it had to be near the trees! It is hard to tell from the picture but we are just a couple inches shy of 1 foot right now. It had nearly melted down and then we had a nice little storm blow through. Thanks mom!

Here are some better pictures of the house lit up, I would really like to put something on the porch, but I don't know how I would secure it and it is just to windy most of the time.

Jen, you should have saved these for Christmas because Liv has been in heaven! She worked from the minute she was out of school until about 8 pm painting the elf and even decorated the box you shipped it in as a toy shop. She didn't even stop for dinner. She was also up at 4 am (she has had a stuffy nose) this morning and has started on the nutcracker.

The sign says "Elfs rule!!" She took a close up of the elf using the hammer in a very unique and I am sure unsafe way, which I am sure you are pleased with! She is obsessed.

Yea! The pre-Christmas packages arrived. I hope the snow gauge is as cute in person as it looked in the picture. Now we will have a true record of your snowfall.

Liv, excellent job on the elf. I can't wait to see the finished nutcracker! I'm sorry to hear that you have a cold. I HATE trying to sleep when my nose is stuffy!

I really did take one for the team, hanging the lights on the second story roof. It was icy and slick and I've realized that although I have spent over 4,000 hours flying an airplane; I do NOT like heights of 20 feet above the ground.

I'm impressed with the light hanging, Nate...I definitely couldn't do it. I'm petrified of heights. Dang Dad....passing on his phobias on us...

The house looks fantastic.

Nate, I hope you were treated to a warm beverage when you were done.

Maybe some of that cocoa with peppermint!

Can't he make his own beverage!

Nate said...

Yes, he can make his own beverage and I think he did make his own beverage. And if I remember right, he made one for his lovely wife as well.

You did make your own beverage, and if memory serves, your wife made her own that night as well! Even though it was previously determined to be your job.

Ah ha ha! Nate and Angie stuck in Erie all alone together having an argument over the beverages. I love it! It is classic. And Nate you really did take one for the team on that roof!

The house looks great as do the elf! I would say Liv rules!Aaron was just saying he would hang lights if I wanted him to...I just don't want to deal with the work...so we will just have beverages instead!

The lights look great. I've always wished we could outline our house with lights, but this house is way too tall to attempt it and we have nothing in between floors to hang lights from either so we stick to the bushes and the hedge, which is not getting done this year due to the ongoing inside projects.

Liv's elf and toy shop are adorable. How fun to get craft projects in the mail and to have something fun to do when its too cold and snowy to be outside.

Well, I wish I had been there. I would have made BOTH of you a warm beverage!

I want a warm beverage! Alas, I too always have to make my own.

I am thrilled that you have a snow gauge and I want to keep updated on the snow totals.

Liv, I am glad that you had fun painting, and the elf looks fantastic despite the fact that he has a hammer in his mouth. I'm pretty sure that is NOT safe. I could never have done such a good job on them, and I wanted to get them to you before Christmas so that you could use them for decorations.

Have you ever tried the Breathe-Right strips on your nose when you have a cold? I did once, and I was amazed to find that they really do work. Unfortunately they made my nose break out, so I don't use them anymore, but you might want to try them on a stuffy-nosed kid.

I have been meaning to try the breathe right strips, I just wondered if they really work, I will have to give them a try now for sure. As of today she is now with a tummy ache and throwing up.

Poor Liv! She seems to be having a rough time. Tell her that I hope she feels better soon.

LIV! How did you catch the flu? You were not even at Thanksgiving for Colton to give it to you.

No fair! No fair! I hope you feel better fast.

Liv, hope you are feeling better. Your Christmas Elves are beautiful. It was a smart someone who gave you something arts and crafts to do. It's great to see the family enjoying the wild life so much. I thought I was one of the only ones. Yesterday I watched a squirrel do a high wire act. It would get a walnut from off the ground scamper up the pole and across the phone wires to get to its home. I used to watch them pick apples and eat them when I was younger. I had a little spotting scope that let me see them up really close. Beware squirrels love tulip bulbs so if you plant bulbs they will go right behind you and dig them up. They don't like daffodils though. Ok enough national Geographic. Nate I am so glad you are still in one peice after the light hanging. I have known too many that haven't survived it so I won't let Norm do lights anymore.
