It was so much fun to get to go shopping with her, she even let me do her hair and paint her nails... I was in mommy heaven!
The evening started off with dinner and a video of the season's highlights. One of the mom's worked tirelessly to get all the food donated for the event... pizza, pasta, wings, salad, drinks and lot's of yummy desserts. The video was amazing, I can't even imagine how many hours were put in to accumulate all of our photos and video clips... it was a wonderful reminder of how hard they worked as a team to win the metro championship.
The Principal gave a wonderful speech, him and his two adorable son's came to nearly every game and cheered them on. He was such a great support to the girls. At the expense of embarrassing his son's he told the girls that towards the end of the season when his boys would go out and play basketball they would imitate the girls and re-create some of the plays from their games!

We had asked the girls to write a favorite memory about each member of the team and then had them read them to each other... it was fun to hear what they all had to say. They were all so complimentary to each other, there were both funny and tender moments. They also did the same for their coach, who came up in tears because she was so touched. She had some wonderful thoughts and advice for the girls and it was very clear how much they mean to her and how special this team has been. We then presented her with few gifts to show her our appreciation.
From the donations we received we were able to put together gift bags for the girls... we were given ski lift passes, water park passes, basketball tickets, gift certificates to a variety of shops and restaurants, a signed picture from T.O. of the Bills and a signed shirt from Lebron of the Cavaliers... it was an awesome response. Lexi ended up with the ski lift passes, woo hoo! Their coach also surprised them with the news that The Rams had been invited to play in a "pre-game" at the season opener of the Erie Bayhawk's (our local minor league basketball team)... a little something to look forward to!
Aren't they just so cute! We ended the night with a basketball pinata that we hung up in the basketball hoop which they had to break with a shootout.... I was to late to get a picture of the frenzy... but even all dressed up these lady's can kick their heels off and bust out their moves on the court!

It looks like a fabulous evening and what gorgeous girl athletes, the whole bunch of them. Lexi is, of course, beautiful all the time, but when she gets dressed up, WOW!, she definitely does rock it!

Wow Lex what an exciting season. What a beautiful talented girl. What a wonderful mother. This only goes to show that with a lot of hard work and enthusiasm you can accomplish anything you set your mind and heart to. We are so happy you have found a comfortable home for yourselves even though it is far away from other family members who miss and love you.
