Day 1 NYC

No we are not in a third world country this is the Buffalo airport with some tough guys with machine guns... are you kidding me... this can't be necessary!

First we traveled through the seven levels of the candy cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops and then through the Lincoln tunnel! NEW YORK CITY!!

After checking into the hotel it was off to the Museum of Natural History. It was amazing! We had no idea what to expect and it was beyond anything we could have imagined.

You've got to love an okapi!

Another Elf moment...Liv just couldn't resist the revolving door on our way out of the museum, thank goodness she didn't puke!

Before we made our decent into the subway system we all reminded each other that the gum stuck to the railing was not free candy!

Then we headed over to central park, it was gorgeous.

At dinner we realized that our taste buds were alive for the first time in years! Erie is not known for it's culinary diversity... or anything else for that matter!

We went to check out the Apple store and FAO Schwartz and then it was back to Central Park to Wollman's Rink for some ice skating. I thought we took more pictures, but we didn't. The setting was just beautiful, surrounded by tree's (this really pretty weeping willow) and then all the buildings beyond. It was all misty and magical!

I wanted to say so much more but we have been up since 4:45 this morning and we are exhausted and need some sleep so we can do this all again tomorrow!

Holy Crap! You fit an awful lot of NYC in on your first day! I would have expected to spend 4 days doing all that.

Thanks for posting it up already. It is fun to see what you are doing.

Sounds like you are off to a misty and magical adventure. How fun for Lex and Liv to get to see and do all of those wonderful things at such a young age. I was 50 before I got the chance to see New York. It was fantastic. Thanks for taking such great pictures so we can live vicarously through them.
