The Bet

Lex: Dad, I bet I can win you in a race. (Imagine the taunting teenage voice)!

Nate: If you win I give you ten bucks, if I win you clean the bathrooms for the next two weeks.
Lex took the deal and the race was on with Liv at the finish line to officiate!

Here is a picture of Lex winning the race!

Nate: Best two out of three?

So the next race was from farther away which Nate thought would give him the advantage....

Lex taking an early lead....

Lex widening her lead.....

Clearly no need for a photo finish as she kicked butt! Better luck next time honey now pay up!

Nate what were you thinking? With a birthday coming up you are way too old to be racing a teen aged soccer player!

Lex, smart girl. Enjoy your ten bucks.

Good girl! Poor Dad, I'll bet he was so tired he would rather die!!! I can just see the red face, the dripping off the body. Poor dad.

I now have an elbow injury and my legs hurt. Who knew that I was going to throw out my elbow running a foot race.

I am feeling a little better this morning, but my ego will take YEARS to heal. I still can't believe how fast she is. I really thought I could out last her when we ran the longer distance, but she beat me worse the second time.

I don't know if I feel worse that I am now a SLOW old man, or that my baby girl has grown up. ;(

LOL!! Way too funny.

That is so funny. Katie and I had a race the other day and I was being mean and not going to let her win she dropped to the ground half way through and had a major melt down.

Way to break Katie's little heart Jess! The funny thing is my dad did the same thing to me when I was about Katie's age and I remember it vividly!

I just think it is so funny how confident Nate was that he was faster than Lex... I know I am old and slow, I do NOT need to race her to find that out!

It is always astonishing when we realize our "age" isn't it? Brian is suffering through that today as we speak. The boys went bike riding and it totally worked him. He is turing the big 3-0 this year though too. Way to go Lex.

I'm with you Nate, I refuse to grow old gracefully! I'm only a full decade ahead of Brian this month!

LOL, how did the elbow injury happen? Doesn't even seem like that should be possible.

I remember having a similar bet with Jeremy and Nate a number of years ago when I was running 13 mile races. I think I won but don't remember them paying up. Or did I lose? I best forget it as I get tired these days just thinking about taking the garbage out. Getting old is such fun. Way to go Lex!

Godfrey this is too much! Nate's poor ego is just shot ha ha! And to top it off Brian whipped your ass in croquet!

I'm laughing my butt off! Way to go, Lex. Nate, I think the best part is that you threw out your elbow while racing! That sounds like something I would do.

C'mon Nate!!!! The great part about the elbow is that just the other night we were watching a Seinfeld rerun and it was the one that George is faking the elbow spasms, only to really injure himself at the doctors office. It's all I could think about when I read about your injury!!!

Wait to go Lexi!! If it makes you feel any better my kids can kick my butt too. Wish we could have been there to witness it!!
