Liv had been asking us to paint Easter eggs all week, so on Friday afternoon; we finally relented. We even got Lex to participate, although she did not appreciate getting her picture taken.
Ang took Liv to the new Hannah Montana movie on Saturday morning because it sold out before they could get tickets to the Friday night show, and Liv was EXTREMELY dissappointed. While they were gone I decided to hide Easter eggs in the yard because Liv had been begging me all week long for an Easter egg hunt. As you can see from the pictures, we made it a family affair and several of the girls did not look like they were enjoying the beautiful Erie weather, but Liv was in HEAVEN.
On Saturday night, the girls and I decided to watch a movie together. The difficulty was trying to decide which movie to watch. We looked through all of our DVD's and on-demand movies, and argued for nearly an hour. Liv wanted "Ice Age 2" or "Bridge to Terabithia". I wanted "Old Yeller" or "Where the Red Fern Grows". Lex didn't care, until me or Liv would make a suggestion, and then she did not want to watch any of our movies. We finally settled on "Independence Day" because it was on the regular TV and required no effort to watch. As you can see from the picture, we were all VERY tired from the days activity.
We told Liv that she had to wait until 7am to wake up on Easter morning. At our house, the expectations for the Easter Bunny rival those for Santa Claus. Liv was up at 7:05, but Bella was the first one up and had already found her basket by the time Liv came to our room. This is a picture of one of her presents.
Liv found her parents baskets in the closet and then she set off to find hers. After the third try, we managed to get the teenager out of bed, but she refused to do any searching. Liv found Baby's basket up in the office and then she located Lex's basket in the downstairs closet. Lex was THRILLED.

After searching for about a half an hour, Liv was starting to wonder if the Easter Bunny had forgot to leave her anything (I don't know where she would have got that idea?). Lex made the suggestion that she should look out in the garage and the rest is history.
Lex got a bunch of clothes and candy. Liv got several things from Build-a-bear, a new Nintendo DS and a game. After the festivities of the morning, Ang made one of the most spectacular dinners of all time. I wish the picture could do it justice, but it just may have been "as good as it gets".
Happy Easter to all and to all a good night.

Oh my goodness that sounds just spectacular! It does look like the weekend was just perfect. I am so excited to see you all next month and see your house!
Well it looks like you had a much more exciting Easter than I did! I walked the dog, went to church, ate some leftovers, and walked the dog.
Man, your Easter is as big as most of our Christmas'. Your kids made out like bandits! Once again Angie makes the rest of us look bad with her SPECTACULAR dinner. I can't even tell you the last time I attempted to cook. I don't think I was cut out to be a cook, I really hate it!! Wish we lived closer so we could invite ourselves right over... I'm glad that you guys had such a fun Easter, we missed you guys...
What a great day you had. And, how fun to have the Easter Bunny hide all the baskets in so many different places. How fun is that? And, it looks like everyone got just what they wanted. Good going parents!!!
And, we all still miss you. Thanks for the blogs.
My dad was wrong.
The Easter bunny got mixed up with me and Lexi's easter baskets got swiched. HER present was with MY basket. And MY basket was with HER present.
Liv is right. For some reason the Easter bunny tried to TRICK us this year, but we are too clever for that.
Shelly...although our meal was great, we would have traded it for some hamburger helper and your family's company.
I have it on good authority that your dinner was indeed, fabulous. I also heard that there were breakfast crossiants that were to die for. I wish Ang wasn't going to med school so I could have her cook for us.
It looks like you all did have a fabulous Erie Easter. The Easter bunny does treat you guys pretty well!
Dang! I wish the Eater Bunny was that generous to our family!!! Looks like you guys had a blast! You guys never cease to amaze me with all you guys to with and for your kids.
I love the pics, especially with Liv looking so cheerful, and Lex looking....like a teenager. We miss you guy!
And the winner is Bella!! Looks like you had an awesome Easter weekend.. How I miss family.
By the way, can anyone explain what eggs and Easter Bunnies have to do with Easter?
I believe the eggs probably refer to a re-birth. As for the bunny, not a clue
Oh to be young again! I'm glad Erie celebrates the same holidays. You guys seem so far away. It is so wonderful and exciting to spend these special times together. We indeed missed all of you at the annual easter egg hunt here. The weather even cooperated, although we are enjoying a blizzard again today. The girls are so beautiful and entertaining. Thinking of you always.
Looks like Easter was wonderful in Erie. It was a little sureal for us as the little ones looked for eggs among live bunnies. We tried to have our annual egg hunt for the grand kids on Sat but got rained out. We did end up getting together on Sunday though. We needed the Barnes girls though. Your cousins missed 5 eggs.
Hey guys! I finally have started a blog for Brian, I and Aubree- so I figured I would start commenting on your sweet family. Looks like you guys have really enjoyed Erie so far and are doing loads of new and fun things. The Easter Bunny never once hid my family baskets on Easter and I think that is just a FABULOUS idea, I think I will write him a letter to ask for this accomodation for Aubree next year. Hope all is well, check out our blog too- bsanelson.blogspot.com
